As far as I'm concerned, the "sequels" aren't canon, never were, never will be. Disney and Lucasfilm just have to catch up to that fact. Yes, I know this was made before it was clear just how much the "sequels" stank. Star Wars will continue to bleed money until Disney does the right thing and erases the "sequels." There's no fixing them, and they're a creative and financial dead end. Telling me that they will never be removed from canon is exactly the same as telling me that Disney will be content to keep losing money on Star Wars forever, which they are, despite a strong start back in 2015.
